Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by the BowfishIQ team to answer common questions about BowfishIQ. It is app-owner content, not an independent certification, audit result, or legal advice.

• Account information: email address, display name, and optional profile details you enter.
• Trip data: dates, waters, boat ramps, conditions, species, counts, notes, outcomes, and crew you record.
• Location data you choose to provide: scouting pins, spot coordinates, and water selections.
• Photos you upload to a trip, ramp, or scouting pin.
• Contact details for notifications: a phone number only if you choose to enable SMS.
• Device and usage information needed to operate the app, such as browser type and error diagnostics.

• Operate your logbook and calculate your scores, statistics, badges, and recommendations.
• Deliver the notifications you have enabled, on the channels you selected.
• Keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
• Improve the app's accuracy using your own history and anonymous aggregate patterns.

Trip details, notes, scouting pins, and exact coordinates are visible only to you unless you explicitly share a trip or invite crew to it.

Crew members you invite can see the trips they are part of. They never gain access to your other trips.

If community intelligence stays enabled in your privacy settings, your trips contribute anonymous water-condition context grouped by water body.

Fish counts, species detail, exact spots, private pins, and your identity are never shared through community intelligence.

• Service providers that operate the app: hosting, database and storage, email delivery, and (when you enable it) SMS delivery.
• Public data sources are queried for conditions; your identity is never sent to them.
• We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• We may disclose information when required by law or to protect safety, rights, or property.

Trip history and account data are retained while your account exists so your statistics stay accurate.

Notification delivery records and security logs are retained for a limited operational period and then removed or aggregated.

Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in the Data Deletion Policy.

• Export a copy of your data from Privacy Settings.
• Correct or delete individual trips, pins, and photos at any time.
• Turn community intelligence, location precision, and photo sharing controls on or off.
• Request account and data deletion from Privacy Settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data.

BowfishIQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact support@bowfishiq.com.

Access to your data requires authentication, and database access rules restrict every table to the accounts allowed to read it. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Material changes are published as a new version with a new effective date. Previous versions stay available, and you can see which version you accepted in Settings.
